Suede is an English alternative rock band from London formed in 1989. Initially based around the partnership of vocalist/lyricist Brett Anderson and guitarist/composer Bernard Butler, the group made two albums prior to Butler's acrimonious departure and his replacement by guitarist Richard Oakes and keyboard/guitarist Neil Codling. A further three studio albums (and a highly-regarded B-sides collection) followed before their disbandment in 2003. The band reunited in 2010 for a series of concerts, which were successful enough to convince the group to reunite permanently, leading to five further studio albums and multiple compilations and live albums. Due to legal action instigated by US-based jazz vocalist [a5206792], the band is known as "The London Suede" in the Usa.
