Franz Ferdinand est un groupe de rock écossais formé à Glasgow en 2002. La formation originale comprenait Alex Kapranos (chant, guitare, claviers), Nick McCarthy (guitare, claviers, chant), Bob Hardy (basse) et Paul Thomson (batterie, percussion, chœurs). Après son départ en 2017, Julian Corrie (claviers, guitare, chœurs) et Dino Bardot (guitarre, chœurs) rejoignirent le groupe. Audrey Tait (batterie, percussion) remplaça Thomson en 2021. Célébrés pour leur mélange de rock indie, revival post-punk, rock expérimental, dance-punk et alternative, Franz Ferdinand a obtenu plusieurs hits n°1 au Royaume-Uni depuis le début des années 2000. Leur premier single "Take Me Out" devint un succès commercial, culminant à la troisième place du UK Singles Chart et recevant une nomination aux Grammy Awards pour la meilleure performance rock d'un duo ou groupe avec chant. L'album de même titre gagna le prix Mercury en 2004 et reçut une nomination aux Grammy Awards pour le meilleur album alternative.
