Babymetal is een Japans kawaii metalband opgericht in Tokio in 2010. Bestaande uit Suzuka Nakamoto als "Su-metal" (leidingstem, dans), Moa Kikuchi als "Moametal" (achtergrondstem, dans) en Momoko Okazaki als "Momometal" (achtergrondstem, dans), is de band geproduceerd door Kobametal van Amuse Inc. Hun unieke sound combineert kawaii metal, metal, alternatieve metal, J-pop en J-rock. De Kami Band levert instrumentale backing voor hun stemmen. Oorspronkelijk een sub-unit van Sakura Gakuin, werd Babymetal een zelfstandig act in 2013 nadat Nakamoto zijn afstudeerde. Na diverse toertours hebben ze uitgebreid in Europa en de Amerikas opgetreden. Ze hebben vijf studioalbums uitgebracht: Babymetal (2014), Metal Resistance (2016), Metal Galaxy (2019), The Other One (2023) en Metal Forth (2025).
