Over Market Hotel
Market Hotel is a live music venue in New York, at 1140 Myrtle Ave in Bushwick, Brooklyn. It occupies the second floor of a 140-year-old building overlooking the elevated subway at Myrtle Broadway, above Mr Kiwi Grocery. The nearest subway station is Myrtle Avenue, about one minute's walk away, with Kosciuszko Street station roughly ten minutes' walk away.
The venue programmes live concerts as well as DJ and club nights. Market Hotel has served as a neighbourhood nightlife hub for Bushwick and Bed-Stuy for over 50 years, across multiple incarnations. In April 2010, the NYPD forced the space to close and required renovations before it could reopen with proper occupancy permits.
