Franck Hueso, better known as Carpenter Brut, is a French darksynth musician from Poitiers, France. Since 1977, he has been crafting his unique blend of synthwave, darksynth, electro, electronic, and dark wave sounds. Under the No Quarter Prod label, he has released three EPs, collected together as the album Trilogy in 2015, followed by three studio albums: Leather Teeth (2018), Blood Machines Ost (2020), and Leather Terror (2022). A live album, CarpenterBrutLive (2017), also showcases his energetic stage presence. In addition to his original music releases, Carpenter Brut has contributed to various film and video game soundtracks. Interestingly, he deliberately maintains a low profile as an artist, focusing attention on the music itself rather than his personal identity. When performing live, he is joined by guitarist Adrien Grousset and drummer Florent Marcadet from the French metal band Hacride.
