Dean Lewis is an Australian pop singer and songwriter known professionally by that name. Born Grant Loaney on October 21, 1985, he has been active in the music industry since 1987. Lewis has honed his craft across a range of genres, including pop, adult alternative pop/rock, alternative/indie rock, contemporary singer/songwriter, and dance. He is signed to Island Records Australia. Throughout his career, Lewis has achieved significant commercial success with hits like "Waves", which boasts 7× platinum certification in Australia, and "How Do I Say Goodbye", a global phenomenon that earned gold or platinum status in over ten countries. His single "Be Alright" reached number one in Australia, ultimately achieving 11× platinum certification domestically and multi-platinum success worldwide, including double platinum in the United States. Lewis has released three studio albums to date: A Place We Knew (2019), The Hardest Love (2022), and his most recent effort, The Epilogue, dropped in October 2024.
