Jacob Collier

Jacob Collier is a British multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer, and artist born on August 2, 1994, in Finchley, North London, UK. With a passion for jazz, contemporary R&B, classical, crossover jazz, and electronic music, he has been active since the mid-1990s. Collier's unique sound is characterized by his incorporation of various musical genres, particularly jazz, often focusing on harmonization. As of November 2021, he holds nine Grammy Award nominations and five wins, making him the first British artist to receive an award for each of their first four studio albums. Starting his online presence with YouTube videos in the late 2000s, Collier gained recognition through quarter-note harmonies. His tracks were later released on Bandcamp, where jazz pianist Herbie Hancock took notice and connected him with world-renowned producer Quincy Jones. This led to collaborations with film music composer Hans Zimmer and a multi-month world tour performing with Jules Buckley and the Metropole Orchestra among others.
