Morrisey
Morrissey is an English singer and songwriter born on May 22, 1959, in Old Trafford, Lancashire, England. He rose to prominence as the frontman and lyricist of the rock band the Smiths, who were active from 1982 to 1987. With a distinctive baritone voice and poignant lyrics that often explore themes of emotional isolation, sexual longing, self-deprecation, and dark humor, Morrissey's music has captivated audiences worldwide. As the lead singer of the Smiths, he cultivated an image as a sexually ambiguous social outsider who embraced celibacy, deliberately avoiding rock machismo. The band released four studio albums, with several top twenty singles on the UK chart. Since the Smiths disbanded, Morrissey has pursued a successful solo career, releasing music through labels such as étienne, Bona Relations, and Linder Ltd. With a diverse range of genres including alternative rock, indie pop, indie rock, art pop, and pity pop, Morrissey's music is characterized by its literary depth and emotional intensity.
